Vintage Holt Howard Starry Eyed Santa Candleholder Japan Christmas 1959

How fabulous is this Holt Howard Starry Eyed Santa candleholder!! This whimsical piece is very rare and incredibly hard to find. Santa’s eyes are atomic and starry and very space-age. Santa’s hat is the candle holder. There is a lot of fabulous gold sponging details on this piece and Santa’s beard has gold curly-qs.  The red colors are very bright on this piece with a shiny glaze. No chips or cracks that I can find. Bottom is marked © 1950s Holt-Howard and the piece retains its original red and gold foil label HH Japan label. Measures approx.. 5 ¼” inches.

Condition:

This one is in exceptional condition with minor wear, has some red waxy residue inside the candleholder. A tiny spec of paint flaked on the handle on the front and back and on the plate near where Santa is attached to the plate portion, and there’s a couple glaze/paint pops that are common with vintage ceramics from the 1950s and has the crazing we love on true vintage items. No chips, no cracks. Glares from camera. This one is exquisite!!
