Vintage Holt Howard Starry Eyed Santa Salt & Pepper Shakers 1959 Japan Christmas Pixieware Mid-Century MCM Atomic
These iconic vintage Starry Eyed Santa shakers, designed and produced by the renowned Holt Howard company in 1959 are such a whimsical piece and very rare and incredibly hard to find. Santa’s eyes are atomic and stars and very space-age. There is a lot of fabulous gold sponging details on this piece and Santa’s beard has gold curly-qs and he has a smile. The tops of the shakers are decorated with gold dots and one shaker has an S and the other a P. The craftsmanship and attention to detail are evident in every aspect of these delightful shakers. In excellent vintage condition, these salt and pepper shakers have been lovingly cared for over the years. There are no chips or cracks. They show only minor paint wear, crazing, and a few darkened areas, which is typical for ceramics of this age. Overall, these shakers are in remarkable shape, considering their age and rarity. They are even better in-person!! One shaker has its stopper and the other has the stopper inside. Shakers measure approx. 3 ½” inches tall. Glares from camera.
