Vintage Anthropomorphic PY Apple Face Salt and Pepper Shakers 1950s Japan Mid-Century Kitsch

Adorable set of hand painted apple face salt and pepper shakers made by PY in Japan in the 1950s. Apples are smiling and look sideways at each other. They have big eyes and long eyelashes. One shaker has a turquoise blue bow with green stripes and the other shaker has a yellow bow with red polka dots. Shakers measure a little over 3” inches tall and have rich colors with a shiny glaze. Shakers each retain their original black labels that say “Hand Painted Coronet Japan” and shakers are stamped with “N JAPAN PY”. Shakers retain their stoppers. Fantastic pair of shakers!!

Condition:
Practically mint. There are no chips, no cracks, very smooth and shiny, I can’t see any flaws.
